Fifteenth: France: Four preparation matches for the World Cup this summer, including three at home

The French XV will play four preparation matches for the 2023 World Cup in August, including three at home, against Scotland twice, then against Fiji and finally against Australia, who on Wednesday evening became the French Rugby Union (FFR) official. The Blues, who will play the World Cup at home (September 8 – October 28), and in which they are one of the favorites, will start the “Summer Nations Series” on August 5 at Murrayfield.

They will then host their XV du Chardon at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Etienne on 12 August, before going to Nantes, in La Beaujoire, to welcome Fiji there on 19 August. On August 21, the list of 33 players who will play in the World Cup will be revealed, ahead of the final match against Australia at the Stade de France on August 27.

In the meantime, a group of 42 players, whose names will be announced on June 21, will have completed different training courses: in Carpiagne (Bouches-du-Rhône), within the Foreign Legion, from June 26 to 28, then in Monaco from 2 to July 14th. From July 24 to August 3, the Blues will find Marcoussi’s CNR before meeting in Capbreton (Landes) from August 7 to 25, as they begin their preparation for the 2023 Six Nations.

France will play their World Cup opening match on September 8 against the New Zealand All Blacks.
