A new Netflix documentary about the volcanic tragedy in New Zealand

Lauren and Matthew Urey in 7th Heaven in December 2019. The American couple recently got married and travel to New Zealand for their honeymoon. But what happens there changes their lives forever!

The couple visits Wakare volcano with a tour group. It suddenly erupts – 47 tourists are trapped on the island by the volcano. The situation is too dangerous for the authorities to be able to save people. However, some helpers ignore the warnings and manage to evacuate at least 39 people from the island.

All of the evacuees are covered in burns, including Matthew and Lorraine Urey. Matthew suffered burns on about 80 percent of his body, Lauren 25 percent.

“I thought: we’re dying seriously on our honeymoon,” says the American in a new Netflix documentary. In this, the fate of the spouses is shown, and the assistants explain how they lived today.

“I have no idea how we survived it. I thought this was the end for both of us,” continues Matthew Urey. They had to recover from their injuries in hospital for more than two months before they were allowed to go home. Nearly three years later, the memories are still on the body. clearly visible.
