WateRugby: The Garonne is a new stadium for rugby players

From September 8 to 11, Port de la Daurade in Toulouse will host the 4th edition of WateRugby with matches, entertainment, music and diving at the Garonne!

Yann Delaigue, the former inaugural France’s fifteenth tournament, accompanied by about thirty former internationals, invited the audience from 8 to 11 September at Port de la Daurade, on the banks of the Garonne River. Dimitri Yachvili, Yoann Huguet, Maxime Mermoz and many more rugby legends will be there to share an exceptional moment with all the party and oval fans. This fourth edition of Warterugby will delight the inhabitants of Toulouse with an array of hells.

30 French and former world rugby legends who have a total of over 1,000 international selections will come to guarantee the show. French Christian Califano

Vincent Clerc, Fabian Bellos, Thierry Desautiuer, Emile Netamac, New Zealander Jerome Kaino, Samoa Census Johnston, Britons John Petty and Dillon Armitage, Italians Mauro and Mirco Bergamasco and many more will compete in the one-of-a-kind EAU’LL STAR Championship in the world!

The ladies will also be in attendance: Two players led by Fanny Horta, captain of the French team with 7 vice Olympic champions, will be honored during a ceremonial match.

What is water rugby?

40 x 35m floating barge as a pitch, no touch, no target: you literally have to dive to score! This is the concept of WateRugby! In total, there are more than 650 players who will walk on the grass and pee their shirts throughout the event. Company Tournaments, Amateur Tournaments, Kids Initiatives: WateRugby targets all audiences, from the youngest to the oldest.

Animation all weekend

On Saturday and Sunday brunch, Thomas Fantini will be at the helm of the traditional “Mêlée des Chefs”, in the company of local restaurants and international players. During this fun and friendly cooking workshop, he will awaken the taste buds of the audience thanks to the development of an original and delicious dish based on local products.

In the afternoon, Ducky the Mascot will come, very comfortably, to meet the audience for a photo shoot and a signature session full of smiles and good humor. The cheerleading competition will also be held on Thursday.

After the games, the party continues! On Thursdays and Fridays, local DJs will come to move the village. On Saturday evening, the audience will be invited to dance in a “calm” atmosphere to the tunes of the La Cana Brava group. On Sunday evening, young and old will be able to follow and cheer on their favorite team during the rebroadcast of the top 14 match between Stade Toulouse and Rugby Club de Toulon on the giant screen in the village.
