German internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom (43 years old) has married in New Zealand. He posted wedding photos to Elizabeth Donnelly (23) on Twitter. Dotcom separated from his first wife Mona in 2014. Born in Kiel, he is the father of five children.
Billionaire’s lawsuit against New Zealand
At the same time, he announced a “billion dollar damages lawsuit” against the New Zealand government. Dotcom wrote that this enabled the “unlawful destruction” of the online exchange platform Megaupload and the confiscation of its assets.
The man from Kiel, who has lived in New Zealand for many years, is currently fighting extradition to the United States due to allegations of fraud. US prosecutors originally charged the Megaupload founder and his staff with widespread copyright fraud. The illegal exchange of protected material is said to have cost copyright holders half a billion dollars.
In February, a New Zealand court ruled that while dotcom could not be extradited for copyright infringement, it could be extradited for fraud.
