Microsoft and Samsung have announced that owners of Samsung networked TVs dating back to 2022 will soon be able to access hundreds of Xbox titles from their screen without having to own a console.

The video games will be available from June 30 in 27 countries.

“Blockbusters” such as the shooting game “Halo Infinite” or the racing simulator “Forza Horizon 5” will be part of the catalog.

All titles can be accessed on the Xbox app, without having to download them, thanks to “cloud gaming” (a remote video game).

Users will be able to connect the controllers via bluetooth to their TV allowing them to play their favorite games.

They will need an Xbox Game Pass subscription. Microsoft claims there are more than 25 million users of its paid “cloud games” service worldwide.

The popular online survival game “Fortnite” will be offered for free.

Samsung and Microsoft have already entered into partnerships in the past, notably to allow Xbox Game Pass subscribers to take advantage of certain services on smartphones from the Korean manufacturer’s Galaxy range. For its part, Samsung also has agreements with several other video game streaming services, including Stadia (Google), GeForce NOW (Nvidia), and Utomik.
