Charter for the development of public space in the port of Arcoy – Irkoy

Develop and secure the rue du Port while respecting coexistence, which is the goal of the elected officials during the Municipal Council on 17 March. “We are working with Ceresa to create a charter for the granting of public lands, terraces and other commercial professions in consultation with merchants and restaurateurs. What we wanted to do this winter was a test of a risky project and the harmony of street furniture,” explained Jean-Marie Haut, Vice-Chancellor, and Michel Amadeo, Vice President Municipal.

Reducing the creep of the stands and reducing the traffic

Elected officials want to continue their development of the port, which began last year, by erecting bulkheads. The long-term goal is to reduce terrace encroachment in order to better share, coordinate and secure public spaces. This thus reduces ephemeral structures to prioritizing pedestrians and bicycles in the port.

“The aim of this charter, which will be presented to dealers next Monday, is to limit the movement of cars so that everyone can move calmly in the port and make this place harmonious and attractive,” explained Michel Amadeo.
