France’s Leo Slimmett finished third in the first stage of the 2022 Freeride World Tour Finals in Fieberbrunn (Austria), behind young Austrian Max Hitzig. The first was great. Sweden’s Karl Regener Ericsson was second, only 0.33 points behind Leo Slimmett. Swiss Maxime Chapus, the general classification leader, took 10th place.

Hottest women widen the gap, no suspense. With a very good first round, New Zealander Jessica Hutter, the general classification leader, won the day’s race, despite a big fall during her second round. She is ahead of Norway’s Hedvig Wessel (who took second place overall) and reigning world champion Elisabeth Giritzen.
