The science between information and infox
Orleans Museum of Biodiversity and the Environment (MOBE), Tuesday, February 22nd at 6:30 p.m.
Science is based on the analysis of facts that allow the development of theories that tend to generalize and allow for predictions. It is not without errors and estimations, especially since the facts come from complex experiences. In a world where the flow of information is constant, it becomes difficult to measure the correctness of every piece of information, which amounts to confidence in the source of the information. This question of confidence is necessary when we see the succession of different health discourses in which the word of doctors is questioned. For as long as there have been conspiracy theories, fake news or lies, this is not a new phenomenon. What is changing today is the way we access information, which is often digital. The problem is that fake news has replaced serious information in the traditional sense of the term. **Thomas Huchon**, journalist, author and director, specialized in deciphering fake news and conspiracy theories. He participates in a program on LCI, the “Anti-Conspiracy Club” every Friday at 5 pm.
Entry is free within the limits of available places and in accordance with the applicable government health procedures
