Analysis – While rapprochement with Saudi Arabia seemed possible not too long ago, Israel has recently seen hopes of normalizing relations with Riyadh fading.

With Saudi Arabia, Israel seems to have been a bit quick. Last year, an unprecedented normalization of relations between the two countries seemed within reach, which would have led to a diplomatic earthquake. But the recent rapprochement between Riyadh and Tehran, the Jewish state’s archenemy, has dampened those hopes somewhat, at least for the time being.

Accompanying the Israeli Prime Minister Yossi Cohen, the former head of the Mossad, the real shadow foreign minister, who is especially responsible for contacts with countries that do not have an official relationship with the Hebrew state.
