South Africa eager to take on the Wallabies and All Blacks
Coach Jack Nenber, who once again defended his side’s aggressive style against the British and Irish Lions last month, said the world champions in South Africa are eager to face Australia and New Zealand in the rugby tournament.
The Springboks will play twice against Australia in September, and then twice against great rival New Zealand, as the Southern Hemisphere Championships will end next month.
«It is always good to test yourself against Australia, New Zealand and Argentina. We missed it last yearNienber said at a press conference on Tuesday, referring to South Africa’s decision not to participate in the 2020 tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
«It’s great to play against them again. It was hard not to participate last year and we wondered where we were in terms of strength and ability. Measuring against SANZAR teams is all about competing against yourself, so we’re really looking forward to playing against them.»
South Africa beat Argentina in two Tests in Gqeberha, formerly Port Elizabeth, and finished first in the standings ahead of their next meeting against the Wallabies on the Gold Coast on September 12.
