Given the epidemiological situation, the Federal Council, which has reconvened after the summer recess, does not intend to ease the measures that are still in place to combat the epidemic. The government is also requesting, in measures under consultation, to make examinations mandatory for unvaccinated care staff. Moreover, as of October 1, tests for asymptomatic people should no longer be free.

The latest figures from the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) indicate that 2,120 new infections were recorded in Switzerland during the past 24 hours. In Grayson, the most recent data indicates 41 newly infected patients, nine hospitalizations, and no deceased patients.
