The government does not ease its measures – CSR Swiss Radio and Television

Given the epidemiological situation, the Federal Council, which has reconvened after the summer recess, does not intend to ease the measures that are still in place to combat the epidemic. The government is also requesting, in measures under consultation, to make examinations mandatory for unvaccinated care staff. Moreover, as of October 1, tests for asymptomatic people should no longer be free.

The latest figures from the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) indicate that 2,120 new infections were recorded in Switzerland during the past 24 hours. Two new deaths and 48 more hospitalizations due to Covid-19. In Ticino, again between yesterday (Tuesday) and today, 60 new cases were confirmed and 16 hospitalized. In Grayson, the most recent data indicates 41 newly infected patients, nine hospitalizations, and no deceased patients.

Meanwhile, Swiss companies appear to be gaining momentum after the crisis brought on by the pandemic: the semi-annual results shown so far have often been above experts’ expectations. This is what emerged from a study conducted by the financial agency AWP. In terms of sales volume, for example, nearly four out of five publicly listed companies have exceeded average estimates, and two out of five have exceeded the most optimistic forecasts.
