The Governor of Martinique announces the return of compelling reasons between March

The recovery in coronavirus cases in Martinique has caused the latest measures announced Thursday evening (July 8, 2021) by the province of Martinique.

As of Friday 9 July 2021:

♦ Any gathering of more than 10 people on public roads is prohibited except for official celebrations, protest demonstrations, sports competitions in which less than 50 competitors participate, and events without serving food that is authorized by the mayors in their municipalities.

♦ Anyone participating in a concert, show, show, meeting or sporting event must sit and wear a protective mask for the duration of the event. The organizers cannot accommodate more than 75% of the capacity of the organization.

♦ Discos will remain closed.

♦ In restaurants, the number of customers per table was again limited to 6. Tables were spaced to ensure a distance of at least two meters between guests at two separate tables. Wearing a mask is mandatory for employees and people aged 11 or over when traveling within the establishment.

♦ Side by side assembly of ships remains prohibited in all circumstances, except where there are security requirements.

As of Monday 12 July 2021:

♦ Unvaccinated persons* are prohibited from traveling between Martinique and Guadeloupe unless there is a compelling reason to do so (Exceeding a personal or family reason, emergency health reason, occupational reason that cannot be postponed).

Airlines and shipping companies will check compliance with these procedures before boarding the plane. Passengers will present supporting documents during the airport check. The Governor of Martinique, in coordination with the Director General of the Regional Health Agency, continues the necessary consultations to adapt sanitary measures as closely as possible to the epidemiological and vaccination situation in Martinique.

Martinique recorded for the third consecutive week an increase in the number of new positive cases of Covid-19 with 410 cases between June 28 and July 4, 2021 (from 6,028 tests), compared to 110 cases between June 21 and 27 and 86 cases between June 14 and 20.
