2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Live on ARD

2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Live on ARD. Hamburg – The countdown begins: the FIFA Women’s World Cup kicks off on July 20. The tournament is bigger than ever, with 32 teams vying for the title in 64 matches. ARD is present live and reports more widely than ever before about the FIFA Women’s World Cup: in the first, in the ARD media library, in the Sports Shows app, in the ARD audio library and on the ARD radio waves. For the “Down Under” host nations Australia and New Zealand, all ARD shows have a common slogan: “This World Cup is upside down!”.

At the start, presenter Klaus Löwen and ARD expert Nia Kunzer present the World Cup live from the studio in Hamburg. Kristina Graf and Bernd Schmelzer will commentate on matches from New Zealand and Australia and Stefanie Bacek from Hamburg. Caroline Quebecos first provided the soundtrack to World Cup matches with her song “Where I’m Here All Eyes”.

Within the ARD, NDR is responsible for the entire production of the World Cup programmes. The cross-media editorial team in Hamburg coordinates the collaboration with the small team on site in Australia and the sportschau.de editorial team in Cologne.

NDR Director Joachim Knuth: “All matches, all goals – live, with a time delay or in short: German fans can follow the entire tournament. This will give the FIFA Women’s World Cup the attention it deserves. I am very happy that NDR as leader is broadcasting the event with its partners on ARD and in cooperation with ZDF – I look forward to exciting games!
