Vietnamese space in the capital of Uruguay
The city authorities of Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, adopted a decision to create a special space for Vietnam on José Pedro Varela Street, on the occasion of the 49th anniversary.H Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and Reunification of Vietnam (April 30, 1975) and the 134th AnniversaryH Anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890).

This decision confirms that it is in order to strengthen cooperation between Uruguay and Vietnam after the 30thH On the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (2023), Montevideo authorities approved a plan to create a public space called Vietnam.
This space also aims to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, the great leader of the Vietnamese people, who came to Uruguay in 1912 during his journey to find the path to national salvation.
Montevideo and Ho Chi Minh City will coordinate to create the Vietnamese space. The two regions signed a letter of intent for cooperation in April 2023, to promote tourism development and people-to-people exchanges.
