Republican vice presidential candidates Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris agreed this week to participate in a debate on October 1, a month before the US presidential election.

Republican Senator J.D. Vance, Donald Trump’s right-hand man in the White House race, accepted an invitation from CBS on Thursday, August 15, to debate Tim Walz. Kamala Harris’s new running mate had agreed to participate in the televised exchange the day before. The network said the show would be taped from New York.

Harris vs Trump first duel on September 10

The US presidential election on November 5 was completely turned upside down after Joe Biden withdrew his candidacy three weeks ago in favour of his running mate Kamala Harris.

The new Democratic candidate will face former Republican President Donald Trump in a debate scheduled for September 10.
