Triathlon/Division 1. Mach3 will “do as much as possible to maintain itself”
What are the most important results of the 2022 season?
“The main result is our second place in Division 2 and promotion to the elite, in D1, after winning two out of four stages. We also won the Coupe de France in October in Savoie, ahead of the D1 teams and the long-distance team time trial in Paladru Let’s not forget the good performances of the Under-18s, such as Florent Genin, Tim Thevenard and Romeo Berthuis. »
What are your goals in 2023?
“We will play for maintenance: we will have to avoid the last three places, out of 17, synonymous with relegation. Last year’s holders, Thomas Rivette (ex-international rookie), Basile Fauchard, Simon Valbriard, Luc Trebonese and Mile Pessardon, are preparing for 25 hours of training per week. We did We recruit a New Zealander, Sammy Parry, on the move from Versailles. But also an Italian and several others. The composition of the team for each round will be determined in the best of five rounds. This will create a nice match-up. Our budget has doubled thanks to our partners.”
How’s the general practice going in the club?
“We have about 140 licensees, including 35 under 18s. We have six reference coaches. There are swimming holes in the Loire-sur-Rhône every day. There are running sessions on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays and bike outings on Wednesdays and Saturdays.”
Vienna’s young triathletes will take part in Monlausun on March 25 in the “France” doubles qualifying event. On April 8, Bissardon, Rivette and Fauchard will return to the “French” elite singles duo race in Châteauroux.
