Toulon contracts with the opening Wells

Information disclosed exclusively by Olympic back

Welsh international opener Dan Biggar will be landing at Toulonnais Rugby Club with immediate effect!

And at the end of his contract with Northampton next June, the Welsh player announced his departure from the English club at the end of the season.

Finally, the 33-year-old who has 105 selections for Wales will anticipate his departure as he prepares to join the Banks of the Rade as an extra player, that is, until the end of the season.

In recent days, it was announced that Dan Biggar had been contacted by the leaders of Racing 92. But then the track was closed. And for good reason, RCT took the lead in recruiting the Welshman.

Thus, New Zealand’s Dan Biggar will support Ihia West as the opener for the 2022/2023 season. Remember, RCT started the season with only one professional slot – IHIA West – after losing to Louis Carbonell (Montpellier) and Anthony Bellew (Clermont) last summer.

Note, however, that Dan Biggar is currently injured in the knee and therefore will not be able to play the following matches for XV de la Rade. At the moment, it has not been revealed when he will return to competition.

One thing is for sure: Dan Biggar will not feature on the autumn tour with Wales. Lost.

RMC Sports It gives us additional information regarding the signing of Dan Biggar in Toulon. The Welshman will arrive in Toulon in the coming days and should remain at the RCT for the medium term.

In fact, Dan Biggar has to commit to RCT for the next two seasons, i.e. until June 2025.

Having welcomed Gavin Henson, Rhys Webb, Gethin Jenkins, Eifion Lewis-Roberts and especially Leigh Halfpenny in the past, RCT will indeed be spotting another Welsh player very soon.

In recent days, the Toloni chiefs have drawn close to South African international opener Elton Gantjes. But the latter finally decided to start a detoxification treatment and didn’t follow through on Faroese’s offer.

With Dan Biggar, Toulon seems to have found its best opening in the coming seasons.
