September 1 (Reuters) – The following deals, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures were announced at 0930 GMT on Friday:
** India’s Torrent Pharmaceuticals TORP.NS said it had no information to disclose under listing rules, after the Economic Times reported it was in talks to buy back major equity shareholders in rival Cipla CIPL.NS.
** Australian packaging company Orora Ltd ORA.AX said it was unable to announce a deal to acquire French premium bottle maker Saverglass SAS.
** Australian company Santos Ltd STO.AX has completed the initial sale of a 2.6% stake in its liquefied natural gas project in Papua New Guinea to Papua New Guinea state-owned Kumul Petroleum for $736 million.
** The Swiss takeover committee decided that the partial offer of 28 million GAM Holding GAMH.S shares by a group of investors including NewGAMe SA and Bruellan SA complies with Swiss takeover rules, NewGAMe said on Thursday.
** Auckland Council says it has concluded a block swap deal with New Zealand bank UBS to sell just over 66 million shares in Auckland International Airport
AIA.NZ for NZ$535.03 million ($319.04 million).
