The United States of Limoges leases an Irish international pillar
On Thursday, USA Limoges announced the signing of the 13th recruit. When he completes his third week of preparation, the Limougeaud team will be reinforced by Rodney Ah You, Van’s right-hand column (Pro D2).
At 33 years old, Rodney Ah (1.85 m, 128 kg), due to his resume, is a weight and experience boost to the position that Adrien Buonnato targets when resuming training. Born in Wellington, New Zealand, who ran into boxing before discovering rugby, he made his mark in Canterbury where he won the Air New Zealand Cup in 2009.
A year ago, Column won the Under-20 World title with Baby Blacks. Entered into the final against England, Rodney ah you had in particular the partners Sam Whitelock, Zach Gilford and Aaron Smith.
Three choices with the fifteenth from Ireland
In 2010, the New Zealander headed to Ireland where he joined the County of Connacht. Winner of the European Challenge and Pro 12 in 2016, he qualified for the Irish selection, and will be retained in the XV of Clover squad for the tour in 2014. He will make his debut against Argentina and will then make two other selections.
After six years with Connacht, Rodney Ah joined Ulster (2016-2018) and then Championship rugby with Newcastle (2018-2021). Last season, he played for the Van team where he amassed ten matches, including three at the start.
Rodney Ah You’s arrival is a major blow to the USAL’s transfer window, underlining its desire to secure the services of players who have worked at the top level, such as former World Champion Baby Blacks U20 in 2009, three quarterback Teddy Stanaway Teo. The pillar is part of this logic and will bring its versatility – it can also evolve on the left – as well as its strength and attributes in the current game.
With the signing of Rodney Ah You, USAL recruitment is nearing its end. The Limougeaud team planned to recruit a versatile striker – second-line – third – but still attentive to the slightest chance of starting the National Season 2 that will kick off the Limougeauds the weekend of September 10-11 in Beaublanc against Fleurance.
