The Russian Center for Science and Culture in Rabat commemorates the 225th anniversary of the birth of the writer Alexander Pushkin

Coinciding with the International Russian Language Day, this evening was marked by a congratulatory message sent by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to the participants in this celebration, which was read on his behalf by the Center’s director, Alexander Sen.

During this ceremony, special focus was placed on Alexander Pushkin's career and his literary influence, in addition to presenting a poem in Russian, Arabic, French, Spanish and Amazigh, presented by a group of Moroccan poets passionate about his writings.

Participants also attended an opera performance embodying the writer's most prominent works, in addition to an art exhibition tracing the emergence of writing in ancient Russia through the most important manuscripts by the creators of the Slavic alphabet, Cyril and Methodius.

In a statement to the Maghreb Arab Press, Alexander Sen stressed that this is an important day for Russian citizens around the world, as they celebrate the Russian language through one of its most prominent pioneers of all time, adding that the works of Alexander Pushkin constitute a true intangible heritage of Russia. Country.

He pointed out that this event, like other cultural events organized by the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Rabat, aims to enhance cultural exchange and strengthen Moroccan-Russian relations in the artistic and cultural fields, noting that language remains the basic element in this field of communication between peoples.

The Russian Center for Science and Culture was established in Rabat in 1968, and its mission is to promote the Russian language and increase awareness of Russia's cultural, educational and intellectual potential, as well as its achievements in the scientific, technical and innovative fields.
