The All-Blacks send a strong message to France’s XV!

Two months before their World Cup opening match against France, the All Blacks faced Argentina on Saturday night. And for that first game of the Rugby Championship, they made short work of the Pumas, crushing 41-12.

Successful return to New Zealand. This trip to Argentina, for the inaugural rugby tournament, wasn’t obvious. We wondered about the state of these New Zealanders, which has been less convincing since the 2019 World Cup. The All Blacks were left in tatters by this Argentina side last August, and haven’t played since November.

But from the very first minutes they remembered that they remained very serious candidates for the final victory in the World Cup.

Led by Flyalve leader Damian Mackenzie, the New Zealanders were formidable in strength and efficiency, weakening the Argentine defensive line at every start of their game.

Thanks to defensive errors and missed tackles from the Pumas, they had an attacking bonus with the 30th minute left thanks to a goal from center Rico Iwan.

A few minutes later, scrum-half Aaron Smith weathered a flush with a set to cap off this first period: 31-0 at the break for New Zealand.

The next test for the Blacks, next Saturday, is against South Africa. The Springboks, also world champions, have had success entering this rugby tournament, largely dominating Australia 43-12.

Les Bleus, who is currently studying on a preparatory course in Monaco, was warned. The All Blacks are dangerous, and on September 8 they will be ready to challenge the French at the Stade de France.
