The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) hearing of a video showing Sir Mark Todd punching a horse has been postponed until an unspecified date.
The New Zealander, best known for his exploits as a two-time three-day Olympic champion, has faced a charge of conduct damaging to the sport’s reputation after a video emerged on social media of him hitting a horse. With a branch in August 2020.
In the clip, which was released widely last month, Todd appears to be teaching a cross-country training session as a jockey struggles to jump a horse in the water, with the 65-year-old – who was knighted in 2013 for his services to equestrian sports – Then he waved a branch and hit the horse several times on the stern.
