Sea of Thieves continues to reach heights with player numbers COLOSSAL | X-Box
Sea of Thieves is clearly one of Xbox's biggest successes in recent years. As the game prepares to arrive on PlayStation 5, at the same time as Season 12's release, Executive Producer Joe Neate announced that the game's multiplayer has reached an impressive new level.
Sea of Thieves has reached over 40 million pirates
Since its release in 2018, Rare's latest production has managed to reach 40 million players on Xbox, Windows, and Steam. This number is particularly impressive, but remember that this is not the number of sales.
Players who took advantage of free play periods, as well as subscribers to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, will certainly be counted. Although the game is already preparing to celebrate its six years, it seems that it has not finished its adventure.
Last month, Rare actually revealed a good chunk of content coming in 2024. You can find out all the details here.
On April 30 of this year, Sea of Thieves will debut on all PlayStation 5 players, at which time Season 12 will also be available. In the meantime, you can already stream on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
