Scott Dixon invites Shane van Gisbergen to settle permanently in America, but in what sport?

Capped off with a win at Indianapolis Grand Prix 2 on Saturday, August 13, Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) took advantage of the combined presence of NASCAR and IndyCar at Indy to extend compatriot Shane van Gisbergen.

The latter is already competing in a Cup Series event at Indianapolis, just weeks after winning the urban race in Chicago in resounding fashion. There have been growing rumors of a permanent move for the New Zealander from Australian Supercars to the United States.

“I think he talked a lot about America, Scott Dixon says. It will probably be more affordable, at least on the road and on the track. Oval racing is really on another level, and even for someone like me trying to make that transition is going to be very difficult.

It’s nice to see him. It’s an amazing talent. This guy is incredibly talented, even in karting. I’ve been there many times with him, and he’s very fast.

It’s great to see the success he’s had. I cheered him on from the bottom of my heart during the Chicago race. Up until last night in the Truck Series, he did well in his first race on an oval. He qualified, eighth in a very tight field. I hope he has a bright future ahead of him. Β»

The six-time IndyCar champion also revealed that he has asked Shane van Gisbergen to join him, whether in IndyCar or Nascar.
