Rugby World Cup 2023. Martin Page Rilo (LOU): “It hurts! »
How do you explain this mass bankruptcy of Italy?
We felt helpless from the beginning. Didn’t work much. We fell across the board, both in the invasion stages and in the general game. The All Blacks succeeded in everything they did. We have had the misfortune of meeting angry New Zealanders, all great blacks, quite simply. But it hurts!
Did you speak to your former Toulouse teammates after the match?
I actually had Roman (Ntamack) after the match. He told me he suffered for me.
What tools will be found to rebound against France?
We got 96 points. There is nothing else we can do about it. Alors, he missed this match, he never polled the Esprit, he had no confidence in the presence of the first bonus matches in the Coupe du Monde, and started this week-end in the preparation for the match against the XV from France. We have a chance to catch up. It’s up to us to seize it and show a completely different side to Italian rugby.
Are you looking forward to meeting and possibly playing against your future LOU teammate Baptiste Couilloud?
He is a very good player. I’ve already faced him in the past with Stade Toulousan. It’s exciting to have the opportunity to compete against a future teammate. But first I have to be selected for this match…
Did you make contact with your future club in Lyon during your stay at Burgoyne Jaglio with the Italian team?
I went to meet the staff at Gerland a couple of weeks ago. I had the opportunity to meet many players on this occasion. Today I focus on the World Cup with Italy. I hope we go as far as possible. This requires victory over France to reach the quarter-finals. Then I’ll take a few days off. If we lose to the Blues, I could be ready for action the next day of the Top 14, October 29 against Clermont.
