Rugby / News – New Zealand star Nebo Laulala leaves the All Blacks in 14th place in France
Nebo Laulala, the iconic right backing of the All Blacks and Blues, has decided to get involved and join a French Top 14 team after the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Sources have officially revealed that Laulala is set to succeed Charlie Faumuina at Stade Toulousain, the current top 14 champions His departure represents another example of the continued exodus of New Zealand talent to Ligue 1.
Nebo Laulala began his Super Rugby career with the Crusaders in 2013 before joining the Chiefs in 2016. Having been capped with the All Blacks in 2015, he appeared in the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Since joining the Blues in 2021, Laulala played a vital role in the team. However, he chose not to renew his New Zealand Rugby contract, becoming the twelfth All Black player to try his luck abroad.
Lulala’s arrival in France is part of a growing trend of other New Zealand players joining the top 14 and other leagues abroad. This transfer enhances the competitiveness of the French championship and excites the rugby fans in France, who will soon be able to see the New Zealand star develop on French soil.
