Ramzan Kadyrov is ‘proud’ of his 15-year-old son who beat up prisoner accused of burning the Quran
The President of Chechnya, a republic of the Russian Federation, Ramzan Kadyrov, praised his 15-year-old son for beating a 19-year-old prisoner, jailed for burning the Qur’an in front of a mosque in Volgograd.
On Monday, Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed rumors that his son Adam beat a detainee accused of burning the Holy Quran.
Human rights activists accuse Ramzan Kadyrov, who rules Chechnya – a member republic of the Russian Federation – of ordering kidnappings and extrajudicial executions.
“He hit him and did what he had to do,” he said on Telegram.
“I am proud of Adam’s actions,” he said. “He applied the ideals of honor and dignity to defend his religion.”
Demand “severe” punishment
The Chechen leader posted a video clip showing his son, wearing khaki clothes, beating another man.
“I believe that anyone who violates the holy books, including those who burn them and offend tens of millions of citizens of our great country, should be severely punished,” Ramzan Kadyrov said.
He described them as “a diseased tumor in the body that needs cauterization.”
Ramzan Kadyrov publicly revealed his son’s involvement in the Ukrainian conflict, after he announced in March 2022 that he had sent three of his sons – Akhmat (16 years old), Eli (15 years old), and Adam (14 years old) – to the front.
