The Italian Embassy in Albania settled a restaurant bill that was not paid by Italian tourists in the city of Berat (central-south) after the personal intervention of the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has revealed that he spoke to Meloni about the case of a group of Italian tourists who passed out without paying their restaurant bill in the historic UNESCO-listed city.
She turned her face and ordered the ambassador: The Italian daily said, “Pay the bill for these idiots, please, and issue a press release! Italy cannot be insulted in this way.” no stampa Albanian Prime Minister.
The embassy settled the bill
The story of these Italian tourists who left without paying their bill made headlines in the Albanian media and around social networks. The Italian Embassy in Albania confirmed on Friday that it had paid a bill of 80 euros that this group of four Italian tourists had not paid.
“On the recommendation of the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, we have settled this law that was not paid by a group of Italian tourists in the town of Berat.”said a statement from the embassy. Italians respect the rules and pay their debts, hopefully this kind of incident will not happen again.
The rise in prices this summer has been reflected by an increase in the number of Italians who have decided to spend their holidays on the other side of the Adriatic.
