On Tuesday 4 October, the new reception area of ​​the Tourist Office was inaugurated in the Dordogne Valley, located in the heart of Rocamadour. An event organized by the Covaldor communes community, which invited the elected officials and financial supporters of the project, the tourism actors of the territory and the professionals who contributed to the development of the place.

It is a long-term project that is now being implemented, with the support of several years by the Cauvaldor Community, with the help of several stakeholders: financial partners (State, Occitanie region, Lot administration), experts in tourism and heritage promotion (Dordogne Valley Tourist Office, Syndicat mixte du The Grand Site de Rocamadour, the Pays d’Art et d’Histoire and the AVE CULTURE agency associated with Emilie CAZIN STUDIO), the architects and associated firms.

It was one of the main events of the year in the Dordogne Valley, at the start of the summer season that promised to be dense with the expected return of tourist clients and two implied highlights; Passing of the Tour de France rider and marking three new villages of the most beautiful villages in France including Rocamadour, Martell and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. This contemporary destination superlative offering has a dual ambition: excellence in hospitality and cultural mediation.

In fact, the project allows the structure to honor and ensure a good tourism rating, by offering convenient facilities (rest area, access for people with reduced mobility) and further enhancing its territory thanks to innovative digital devices and numerous devices. The opening ceremony began with the traditional cutting of the tricolor ribbon on the main street of the village, against the background of a mihrab, before continuing with solemn speeches in front of a large mural frieze promoting the Dordogne Valley and its main areas. benefit.

Thus, elected officials and representatives of the Territory took turns expressing their gratitude and joy at seeing the result of such a project, and they welcomed the work of the invited teams: Dominique L’Enfant, Mayor of Rocamadour, Antoine Picot, Head of the Dordogne Tourist Office, Raphael Dupit, President of the Covaldor Communes Community, Caroline Mai Vaux, Consultant Lot County, and Vincent Labarth, Vice President of the Occitanie Region.

The opening ended with a friendship drink at Café-Théâtre Côté Rocher in Rocamadour, a recreation area close to the new office of the Tourist Office, taking advantage of a cliffside balcony with an unobstructed view of the castle.
