Dutchman Nick de Vries (Mercedes) clinched the Formula E World Championship after the final race of the seventh season in Berlin. Rank eight was enough for him to be Sacred.

Formula 2 em 2019 champion, de Vries has written a new line to his record. During Sunday’s race at the old Tempelhof Airport, he took advantage of conditions since his first three runners in the standings were eliminated too quickly.

Bad luck for Mortara

In second place in the championship before this race, Genevan of Italian descent, Eduardo Mortara (Venturi) had seen his title hopes dashed right from the start. It hit New Zealand’s Jaguar Mitch Evans right after the crash.

Mortara was able to walk to his platform, but had to go to the hospital for checkups. England’s Jake Dennis (BMW i Andretti) came in second as he became the best-placed in the title race.

And Sunday’s race was won by France’s Norman Nato, Mortara’s team-mate at Venturi. Sebastien Buemi (Nissan e.dams) once again failed to enter the points. Vaudois, on Saturday the 11th, finished 14th in the final event.
