New Zealand's Ben Campbell wins the title – Morocco Today

New Zealander Ben Campbell won the second edition of the tournament on Sunday, which was held at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat from July 4 to 7.


New Zealander Ben Campbell closed out his round with a 6-yard birdie on the par-five 18th hole, winning the playoff. However, he was three shots behind his playing partner, with two holes remaining.
The golfer was crowned after finishing the competition for the top spot in the general classification with a total of 277 shots (68, 70, 68 and 71), i.e. 15 shots under par, ahead of American John Catlin, who also came in second place. The other American, Caleb Surratt, and the Spaniard Eugenio Chacarra tied for third place with a total of 280 shots respectively (72, 69, 68 and 71) and (68, 71, 68 and 73), or minus 12 moves for each of them.

The New Zealand player expressed his happiness to participate in the eighth stage of the Asian Tour, which was held for the second time in Morocco, and which achieved success in all aspects, taking into account the importance of the presence of the most skilled players and their high level, as well as the quality of the Royal Golf Dar Es Salaam course.
The International Series, organised by the Asian Tour, was launched to promote and develop golf in Asia and the Middle East. Participants in the tournament competed for the title and a prize of $2 million.
