Monaco’s new performance center under the microscope

With the opening of the Performance Center, Monaco now has a state-of-the-art business tool dedicated to excellence. Find out all the information about the new place of life for the career group.

A unique place in the world

The performance center is located in an exceptional natural location, offering a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea. In a limited and non-expandable space, the Performance Center is fully integrated into its environment, ensuring its preservation and sustainability. The land taken for excavation was then reused during the construction phase. An icon of the place, the cliff reminds us that the performance center is located in an old stone quarry from which excavated blocks contributed to the construction of Fontvieille, the offshore extension where Louis-II Stadium was built.

A performance venue

The Performance Center responds to the desire of President Rybolovlev, upon his arrival to the President of the Club, to provide AS MONACO with an ultra-modern working tool for the present and the future. He therefore wishes to place the players of the professional group in the best conditions, allowing them to reach a level of performance in line with the ambitious sporting project of the club. Inspired by the most modern training centers in Europe, in particular Tottenham, after several initial visits, the performance center responds to the three performance pillars of AS MONACO: training, nutrition and recovery. Located on a highly restricted site, the complex has been trialled by the AS MONACO Operations Department and contemplated collectively with the local authorities, architect Frédéric Genin and ARCH Monaco.

fields :
3 stadiums (including 1 UEFA/FFF approved) are now available for the professional group, i.e. 1 extra offer. Adjoining one of them is a 280-seat podium, which makes it possible to welcome the public during professional group training and play youth league matches (U19 group).

Dressing room:
Located in the heart of the performance center, the locker room has been designed as a true skylight, around which the maximum needs of the players are met.
The coat room consists of 38 seats, each with a storage bin and digital screen.

Gym:
A spacious and bright space, facing a large window directly overlooking the stadiums, the gym allows players to carry out their protective work and their bodybuilding sessions in an ideal environment. The space is directly connected to the performance cell offices located on the second floor of the room.
Divided into several disciplines (physical preparation, medicine, nutrition, sports science, etc.), the main task of the performance unit is the collection, storage, analysis and use of all sports and physiological data of players.

medical space:
The medical department is equipped with several spaces for physicians, physiotherapists, orthopedists, podiatrists and psychologists, and is connected to the cloakroom and to the entire performance enclosure. By its design, it makes it possible to pay great attention to the players and ensure their availability at all times.

In a social and educational setting, the kitchen and its humidification station open onto the room and the balcony overlooking the grounds.

While 100% homemade dishes are prepared there, the organic vegetable garden allows the catering service to promote local and seasonal produce. Excellent short circuit. Present at every meal, the nutritionist accompanies the players daily in their diet.

Hall:
With a capacity of 80 people, this diverse and bright space hosts the club’s press conferences, about sixty each season. The hall can also receive the sports staff and players.

panoramic balcony:
The panoramic terrace is located on the top floor of the building, offering a view of the entire site and a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea. Solar panels are installed in this location, which makes the performance center self-sufficient in the production of hot water and reduces its consumption of natural gas.

Appointed Frédéric Genin, Architect – Project Manager: “At the source of the project there is always an ambition and often the desire to see a dream come true. I had the opportunity to meet Dmitriy Rybolovlev who wanted to see his team develop in a training center befitting the most advanced in Europe. The location alone is a challenge. This former quarry does not have the ideal dimensions To install a building of over 12,000 square meters and several training grounds. The solution was to question all the principles established to optimize every square meter and every piece of lawn.Located lengthwise on a north/south axis, this space is open to extreme ideas and uncompromising thoughtful design. The real key was to place the building on its northernmost extremity to free up space and right of way for the training grounds alone. Thus, the building can now meet all of its challenges: to house the many services intended for the first team and to be a symbol of a new stage the club wants to cross. We have given the building its own identity, Both are contemporary to give it a real novelty and always to place in eternity worthy of the greatest sporting institution. The Monaco Performance Center is now giving way to what it should be, the best possible tool for the club to reach a level of performance in line with its p his ambitions and deliver success and sporting success to his supporters. »
