Martignerain Antoine Debons tried but had to bend over
Antoine Dupont had legitimate aspirations to have a better climber shirt. He was just three points behind Thomas Champion, starting with Valbroi, and while today’s stage included five GPM races of the third category, he definitely missed the good breakup, which took a while to form. But Martignerain tried to go out against 130 km from the end. Unfortunately, he took… Thomas Champion at his wheel. The duo was soon taken over by the peloton.

another enemy
When calculating the points earned during the day, the duo was largely dominated by Krists Nielands, who is in the breakup. Latvia set aside 20 points and will therefore wear the blue jersey on Saturday between Egil and Zinal.

For the third time in three days, the platoon took control of the three fugitives. The cross cut a little less than 20 km from the end, so it was decided to win again at Valbroi. Despite numerous attacks, in the final, it was New Zealander Patrick Bevin who triumphed ahead of Ethan Hayter and Rohan Dennis, the green jersey.
Sebastian Reichenbach relieved
Sebastian Reichenbach (29) was well present in the leading group and obviously still very comfortable, he finished off the lead candidates. Michael Storer at home, late Thibaut Pinot, Martignerain is probably the best now within Groupama-FDJ.
In general, there is no change. Rohan Dennis cemented his leadership position by collecting 4 extra seconds. Perhaps this is anecdotal given the difficulties that lie ahead for the Saturday riders between Eagle and Zinal.
