Life lesson of Michel Telagrande, Abel Prize 2024
toWhen Michel Telagrande learned that he was the winner of the Abel Prize, which rewards a lifetime of work, the French researcher did not hide his excitement. The award, which is similar to the Nobel Prize in Mathematics, was awarded to the former director of research at the National Center for Scientific Research “for his revolutionary contributions to probability theory and functional analysis, with notable applications in mathematical physics and statistics.”
The Norwegian Academy of Sciences and Letters, which will award him its award on May 21 in Oslo, has particularly praised his revolutionary and crucial discoveries in understanding the random processes that surround us. Stochastic algorithms, for example, are the basis of weather forecasts and large linguistic models.
