Les Éditions La Joie de lire, Europe’s Children’s Publisher of the Year
After the award dedicated to poetic works for young people, the Young Book Fair in Bologna, on Monday 14 June, revealed the winners of the ninth edition of the BOP (Bologna Prize for Best Children’s Publisher of the Year).
Joie de lire . Publications, a house established in Geneva in the 1980s in the long Swiss tradition of committed publishers and booksellers, won Continental Europe Publisher of the Year. “Acknowledgment is always good to take! It sometimes underscores the importance of our commitment and the accuracy of our choices, far from commercial sirens. The joy of reading does not tremble in the face of difficulty. A life without risks is meaningless. Let’s get back on our way: literature, truth, beauty of images, humor of course…” specific Francine Boucher, Director of La Joie de Lire releases at Livres Hebdo.
BOP books were also delivered to Tanzanian publishing house دار spear and star, for Africa; Iranian Totti Books For Asia American Publishing House Dear Levin For North American Columbian Company Skylight Publishers for South America and finally for New Zealandlive media for Oceania.
Founded by the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, in partnership with the Italian Publishers Association (AIE) and the International Publishers Association (IPA/UIE), the BOP Prize rewards publishers from five continents who have distinguished themselves over the past year mostly because of their creativity, the quality of their editorial projects and their courage.
