Jaguar TCS Racing targets the Formula E world title

Showcasing the 2023 season in Formula E, an innovative discipline in motorsport, the Jaguar I-TYPE 6 is designed to be the most sophisticated and discreet 100% electric Jaguar we’ve ever seen.

In London, on the banks of the River Thames, the Jaguar TCS Racing team has unveiled the Jaguar I-TYPE 6, designed and modified to compete in the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, which ushers in a new era called Gen-3. “The Jaguar I-TYPE 6 is the most advanced and fuel-efficient 100% electric Jaguar we’ve ever seen. It has 250kW of renewable power added to the front and 350kW of power to the rear. This doubles the regeneration capacity compared to the Gen-2 version and makes It is possible to remove the traditional rear brakes,” says South African James Barclay, director of the British team.

Introducing the latest in modern technology, Jaguar’s third-generation Formula E single-seater is 74kg lighter and 100kW more powerful than the cars that preceded it. It is now capable of reaching 322 km / h. For the first time this season, Jaguar will also share its engine technology with fellow British carmaker Envision Racing. So there will be four Jaguar-powered Formula E cars on the grid.

Jaguar decoration is asymmetrical

TCS Racing will compete in Mexico City on January 14th, the first of 17 upcoming races, in 12 different cities. The team enters the 2023 season with an impressive visual identity. The color choice includes Carbon Black, Satin White, and elegant gold accents. The Jaguar I-TYPE 6’s asymmetrical livery provides two unique cars for both drivers, New Zealander Mitch Evans and Britain’s Sam Bird.

Unique to Formula E, this tandem of Jaguar drivers remains the same for the third consecutive season. This demonstrates an important and essential continuity for the team, which will already be in its seventh season in Formula E.
