Is the Israeli occupation illegal? In The Hague, Switzerland walked on eggshells
On 31 December 2022, the UN General Assembly requested a non-binding “advisory” from the International Court of Justice on “the legal consequences arising from Israel’s policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.” This week in The Hague, representatives of 52 countries appeared before the judges to present their assessment of the situation.
