Indoor and outdoor swimming pools, wellness area, play area … New swimming pool west of Nice at the end of 2025
The people of Nice in the west were a bit furious at not being able to use the Camille Moffat Pool for swimming. Rest assured, they will soon be able to enjoy the joys of swimming in a new pool.
The project was approved during the last city council meeting (October 13). Rapporteur Greg Monetti, deputy mayor of sports, mentioned the end of 2025 as the date for receiving the infrastructure.
From an administrative and legal point of view, the municipality made the choice “Public service delegation to finance, design, build and operate the water complex”.
This project is part of the city’s swimming pool plan. In fact, in Nice there are 10 swimming pools (directly operating). However, this is not enough to accommodate all swimmers, including school children, to learn to swim. Moreover, all the basins were built more than 40 years ago, and although they are undergoing renovation campaigns, this is not enough to solve the problem. Exception: Camille-Moffat basin, but reserved for professionals. The new equipment will be installed right next to it, on the Boulevard de Mercantour.

In the specification, a 50-meter, 10-lane outdoor north pool, 25-meter eight-lane indoor pool, indoor pool dedicated to water activities, indoor recreation and relaxation pool with learning to swim area, and outdoor fun pool are planned.
In addition, young people will be able to enjoy the area starting pillow, any water games without depth. Adults will have the opportunity to go to the fitness area with sauna, hammam and swimming pool for relaxation.
Finally, it will be possible to dine on site with a snack.
Please note that special attention will be given “On the energy consumption which usually represents about 15% of the costs of an enterprise of this type with the search for possible savings and the improvement of the means of operation”as evidenced by the deliberations adopted by the local assembly.
