Guillaume Dumas has been named an emerging health leader

Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction at the University of Montreal, William Dumas Identified by the newspaper the top Among the young leaders who will shape health Canada in 2024.

Professor Dumas is involved in numerous projects at the intersection of medicine and social sciences. It promotes open science, develops artificial intelligence strategy and defends cognitive freedom.

A researcher in the Laboratory of Precision Psychiatry and Social Physiology at the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center and a member of Mila – the Quebec Institute for Artificial Intelligence – he also holds the IVADO Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Mental Health.

In 2023, Guillaume Dumas joined the ranks of the CIFAR-Azrieli International Brain, Mind and Consciousness Program and was awarded the… Brain Canada Foundation Scholarship In 2022 as Canada's future leader in brain research.

Previously, he was a tenured researcher in neuroscience and computational biology at the Pasteur Institute, France, and a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Complex Systems and Brain Sciences, USA.

He holds a degree in advanced engineering and computer science, two master's degrees (theoretical physics and cognitive science) and a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, and has focused his research on the neural basis of human social cognition.

“It is an honor to be honored alongside so many inspiring Canadian leaders under the age of 40 who are shaping the future,” said Guillaume Dumas.
