Grand Prix Des Bernches 2022 Double Four Groupama – FDG Start UPS
GROUPAMA-FDJ achieves the duo
Signing an impressive duo with New Zealander Lawrence Bethe and Estonian Wright Arm, Kunti Groupama FDJ didn’t make the trip north for nothing.
We were expecting a good fight to mark this 45th edition between the contenders to win and that was the case from the start with Groupama-FDJ racing dominating who wasn’t in the North to make the shape with its best hopes. A “reserve” team was not for once in reserve against the rubis of GO Sport Roubaix Lille Métropole, the residents of Ile-de-France in St.Michel Auber, or the Belgians in Pro Team Sport Vlaanderen Baloise. If last year’s Pier Pérenchies played a nasty trick on young hopes for Marc Madiot, this year it hasn’t. It was solo that Lawrence Bethe won this 45th edition of the Bernese’s Grand Prix, five seconds ahead of his teammate Wright Erm, Estonian and ahead of South African Morneh van Niekerk (Saint-Michel Uber). Last year’s winner, Belgian sprinter from GO Sport Roubaix Lille Métropole finished at the foot of the podium, taking the lead in a two-man race, Léo Danès (Team U Nantes-Atlantique) who took first place in France.
