France will participate in defending Israel against Iran
Facts –
In a joint statement released by the White House late Monday, US President Joe Biden and his French, Italian, German and British counterparts “called on Iran to abandon its threats to launch a military attack against Israel.” The five leaders, who spoke shortly before, discussed “the grave consequences that such an attack would have for regional security.” White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Monday that the United States believes Iran could launch “a series of significant attacks” against Israel “this week.”
France will work to ensure Israel's security in the event of an attack by Iran or its allies in the region, and will do so alongside its allies. This is the message that must be understood after the “Joint Declaration of the Leaders of France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy on the Middle East”, issued on Monday evening. During the previous Iranian attack on Israel, on the night of April 13-14, France had already deployed military means to intercept Iranian missiles threatening Israel, in particular the Rafale aircraft of the Air Force stationed in Jordan.
