Located in Place Charles de Gaulle, La Papote allows all generations to meet regularly to spend pleasant moments around different activities. For Sabine Colliot, Assistant Responsible for Social Affairs: “La Papote is the result of a strong desire between the commune and the Maison des Jeunes and Caisse d’Allocations Familiales to strengthen social ties in the commune. It provides a precious opportunity to meet, discuss and share joyful moments.” »
Long life at La Papote! »
Under study for many years, this project was realized in 2022 when MJC obtained the approval of the “Espace de Vie Sociale”. Awarded by CAF “for an initial period of two years”, emphasized Gael Boisset, who is in charge of monitoring approvals, “This will allow us to see how the project is set up and established in the territory. We will then move to accreditation for a period of four years, so I wish La Papote a long life! “.
For this, a whole team has already been working for months to develop the project. According to Cécile Chalous, President of the MJC, “This project has been realized thanks to the close cooperation with the municipality, which has supported us financially and made available to us the premises. Métropol is also a stakeholder in terms of solidarity work and education.”
Thanks to this partnership, young and old alike will be able to form bonds and take advantage of many activities, most of which are free (free costs participation).
“A place for everyone”
“La Papote is a place that belongs to everyone. No need to be a member or resident of Fontaines-Saint-Martin. According to her, “MJC will be there to allow everyone to take over the premises, to bring their ideas and desires to life,” explains Adèle Massin, Director of MJC.
Blandine Bastide, a professional animator, will guide the participants throughout the year through numerous meetings: Mosaïk on Tuesdays, (large) workshops for parents and children, bubble cafés, cross-cultural encounters with the Collective from here and elsewhere, the Games Club or the Walking Club long haul. A major artistic project is also planned: “It will take place next year with the Compagnie de danse et de cirque Virevolt. It will be free and open to everyone, ”the host concludes.
