David Smith, former Toulon and Castres winger, is ending his career
The New Zealand wingback announced the end of his career with Actu Rugby before posting a message on his Instagram account.

What a profession! At 36, winger David Smith ends his career. The Samoan native had gone through the hurricanes, blues and Western force of Australia before settling down in 2011 on the side of the Raddy River, in Toulon.
He would win three European Cups (2013, 2014 and 2015) with RCT but also two French Champion titles. The first time always with Var (2014) and once with Castres (2018). Recognized for his qualities of speed, explosiveness and personality off the field, David Smith finished 14th in his mark.

In total and with two Top 14 residents, he will have scored a whopping 42 tries in the Top 14 and 7 in the European Cup. After such a rich career at the highest level, the New Zealander tried to venture on the Narbonne side at the National. After two seasons at Aude, he joined Hyères-Carqueiranne-La Crau in 2021, where he was trained by former USAP player Grégory Le Corvec.
