Coutances: Galerie des Sept, a space for creatives, opens in a historic setting

If the window, on the rue Saint-Pierre side, is discreet, once you pass through the little reception hall, the surprise is complete. Indeed, we come out to a wonderful room with an incredible room vaults and columns. you welcome in Seven Gallery A new space for creators with an area of 200 square meters2located in the heart of the Episcopal City.

driven b Seven creators from the region (see box), this retail store and craft fair will be open from Saturday 15th April the next. It is located in a heritage and historical place.
At the age of 16H century, the residence was occupied by the Hôtel du Grand Coq, the place which hosted on April 21, 1532, King Francis 1anyAnd A banquet hosted by the notables of the region.
Also worth a visit to the shop and gallery is a detour on this historic side of the house.
The goal: to make Galerie des 7 an essential tourist stopover in Coutances.
7 designers from the region
The association brings together seven creatives from the region, based between Coutances and Granville. They will display their creations at the fair: metal sculptures, pottery, backlights, driftwood, textiles and even beaded jewelry.

“The first vaulted room rather hosts art galleries,” specifies Samuel Root. The second, more modern room will house the creators’ workstations. Each month, the exhibition highlights the work of an artist from the region. “We will also be able to absorb the creations of local artisans on the shipment”.
