Comparative duel: Oppo Find X5 Pro vs Google Pixel 7 Pro

Comparative duel: Oppo Find X5 Pro vs Google Pixel 7 Pro

If there is one area in which the two smartphones have shown their value, it is photography. That from Oppo relies on 50MP sensors for the wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle units (f/1.7 and f/2.2), while a third 13MP sensor, with a 52mm-equivalent telephoto lens, enables it to offer 2x zoom. On Google’s side, a 50MP sensor is also in the controls of the wide-angle unit (f/1.9 optics), while a 12MP sensor is associated with ultra-wide-angle optics (f/2.2) and a third of the 48MP is flanked by a lens offering 5x optical zoom.

Comparing the results shows that the difference is weak between the two smartphones. In the wide angle, the display is a little softer with the Oppo terminal, where Google is betting on highlighting details more explicitly, but it is clear that the two devices offer equally convincing images. We note that despite the much lower definition, the Pixel 7 Pro easily reaches the peak of its competitor and even does a little better in terms of color reproduction in low light.

The telephoto unit, on Google’s device, produces daytime photos that are a little smoother, but very close to those of its competitor, despite the higher magnification. At night, its software processing confirms its performance and reveals more details. It’s also its low-light performance, all units combined, that allows the Pixel 7 Pro to win this round, but by a very small percentage.
