Chris Cyborg still hopes to rematch against Amanda Nunes: ‘Maybe in a different organisation’
With her contract at Bellator expiring, Cris Cyborg is hoping to get a second match against rival Amanda Nunes, at another organisation.
Cyborg (25-2) is scheduled to compete at the end of the month in Hawaii in a rematch against New Zealand veteran Arlene Blenco. The Brazilian met her compatriot, Amanda Nunes, at the UFC 232 co-main event in November 2018, losing by KO in the first round and thus relinquishing the featherweight title to the Bantamweight champion at the time.
Cyborg has since racked up five straight wins including a win over Felicia Spencer before she joined Bellator at the end of 2020. In her debut, the Curitiba native stopped undisputed featherweight champion Julia Budd by fourth-round knockout. She then defended her title against Arlene Blencowe, Leslie Smith and most recently in November against Sinead Kavanagh whom she defeated KO in the first round.
With her contract with Bellator coming to an end, Cyborg is looking forward to the opportunity to face the biggest featherweight in UFC history once again at another institution.
” Yes sure !‘, Chris Cyborg said about a possible rematch against Amanda Nunes during an interview with TMZ Sports. “At first, after the defeat, I said I wanted revenge. Maybe in a different organization, maybe we make the fight happen, I don’t know.”
Since her knockout win over Cyborg, making Nunes the first two-time UFC champion, the home of Bahia has added four wins to its tally, beating Holly Holm, Jermaine de Randamie, Felicia Spencer and Megan Anderson before incurring a shock loss to Juliana. Bina.
What do you think of Chris Cyborg’s comments? Would you like to see her again against Amanda Nunes?
