Blizzard talks about what's coming with Season 10 – Overwatch

In a just uploaded video, Aaron Keller talks about the new features coming Monitoring 2Especially during Season 10, which starts in a few weeks. Find all the information without further delay below.

Hello heroes and heroines! We can't wait to share the big changes coming to the game with you.

Characters

Let's start with the stars of our game, the characters.

Starting in Season 10, you will immediately unlock all new characters as they are released. All existing heroes and heroines will also be unlocked. This means that you will no longer need to unlock the characters in the Battle Pass to be able to play them in all game modes.

Those who are accessing the game for the first time will have to complete the introductory course for new accounts in order to unlock heroes and heroines while learning to play. Once you unlock the original Overwatch characters, all Overwatch 2 characters will also become available.

At BlizzCon last year, we gave you a sneak peek at our 40th anniversaryH Venture character, showcasing his unique underground mechanics and daring adventurous spirit. We're excited to announce that everyone will be able to play Venture live when they officially join Overwatch 2 in Season 10.

Changes in mythology

We want to give you more control over how you earn Legendary Forms. Starting in Season 10, we will be introducing changes to how you earn, improve, and unlock Legendary Models in the Custom Shop.

The Mythic Shop will allow you to progress towards acquiring past and current Mythic models at the same time as you complete the Premium Battle Pass. You will be able to decide how much you want to improve your legendary model. For example, if you don't want to unlock all the colors or variations of a model, you can use your progress on other legendary models.

You'll also find old legendary models to give you a chance to get the ones that caught your eye. The current season's Legendary model will be available two seasons after its release. This means that Legendary models from Seasons 1 to 7 will be available from Season 10.

We'll be sharing more information about the Mythic Shop and additional changes to the Premium Battle Pass as we get closer to Season 10.

Challenges and coins

Starting in Season 10, you'll earn coins on the free and premium tracks of the Battle Pass, to make them easier to earn and give you a more consistent source of currency. We are also increasing the number of free coins available per season from 540 to 600.

Weekly Challenges will be more flexible to suit your playstyle and will now award you Battle Pass EXP.

Constantly updating the game

Beyond characters and customization, we continue to look for ways to keep the core of Overwatch 2 fresh. In Season 9, we introduced big changes to competitive gaming and important game mechanics. Our long-term vision is to keep the game alive by constantly introducing new systems or updating old ones, flipping metas, resetting rankings, and offering new rewards. We are still adjusting the pace of these changes and listening to your feedback.

We really want to make Overwatch 2 as fair, fun, and competitive as possible.

New maps to explore

We are happy to share with you our plans to release and update the maps.

Clash, the fresh new mode we introduced to you at BlizzCon 2023, will take its first steps in the game this year with its first two maps. Get ready for non-stop action during a limited test of Clash Mode on the new map, Hanoka, at the start of Season 10. We look forward to hearing your comments.

In Season 11, you'll discover Runasapi, the new advanced map set in the stunning landscape of Peru, and take your first steps into the world of the Illari and the inti warriors. We are also making changes to some existing maps. In Season 11, you'll be able to fight on the reworked Colosseo map.

We've received your feedback on Dorado, Circuit Royale, Havana and Numbani. We're working on making big changes to these cards, so let us know what other cards need attention.

Overwatch 2 evolves with each season, and your feedback greatly helps us move forward. As we enter Season 10, the team is committed to providing an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Stay tuned for the next development message as we get closer to Season 10, where we'll talk about updates to Competitive Matches and the Defensive Matrix, including how we respond to malicious behavior, team limitations in the Competitive portion and player anonymity.

Thank you for being part of this amazing adventure… We will continue to create a great game!
