Barriers erected to fight rodeos, locals worried
Urban rodeos are ubiquitous, not just in Lyon, Villeurbanne and eastern Lyon.
In Fontaines-sur-Saône, the town hall, with the help of the Metropole, has been trying to fight this noisy and dangerous phenomenon for several years.
Final action: launching barriers blocking access to the Hervey Cornara piazza, as cars were used in the area. The development joins the Riprap, 30 zones, high plateaus and barriers already installed in the town of Val de Saône.
“It is a long-term function of greater public calm, and complementary to municipal actions that are being implemented elsewhere: social mediators, nearby summer events, upcoming publication of video protection, support for residents’ initiatives, preventive measures”describes Mayor Thierry Pozzol.
Except that these barricades in place Hervé Cornara, named after the businessman victim of the Saint Quentin Flavier attack, have not yet been agreed upon. On the town’s Facebook page, a number of residents mentioned the lack of influence: “The two wheels pass and skip lanes at high speed. Elevated walkways serve as springboards for them to raise their wheels!! “
