Apple iPad Pro 11-inch test (2021): Small and full of power

We’re just getting used to the iPad Pro’s design. There has been virtually no change since the 2018 release, except for the mass of images gaining in size with the advent of two new modules. In fact, the chassis still benefits from the most beautiful effect aluminum finish, with the antennas on top and bottom. The Apple logo is placed in the middle as usual. There are also 3 magnetic points called Smart Connector.

On the front, the border features Face ID only, for unlocking the tablet. Apple’s facial recognition solution is still diabolically effective. On the iPad, it works in portrait or landscape orientation; This is not the case with iPhones, for example.

The iPad Pro 11″ (2021) retains the dimensions of its predecessor, 247.6 x 178.5 x 5.9 mm. However, its weight has been reduced slightly, with 5g less in both the vintage 2021 model weighing 466g for the Wi-Fi and 468g for the 5G version. .

The buttons are in the right corner of the tablet. The volume controls are on the right edge, while the start button is on the top edge. As on the 12.9-inch Pro model, there are 4 speakers on the top and bottom edges, and it uses a USB-C port for recharging, but it’s also compatible with Thunderbolt 3/USB 4.

My voice

As on all iPad Pro since 2018, there are 4 speakers on either side of the tablet. Their audio rendering is very satisfying, both for videos and for listening to music, whatever the volume.
