Afeela, the new electric vehicle brand from Sony and Honda
Sony and Honda will build electric cars together. At CES in Las Vegas 2020, Sony unveiled the concept car for the first time vision s from his side. Then the Japanese electronics giant approached Honda to organize the development of its future cars, which required the expertise of a car manufacturer. After, after Announcing their partnership last yearSony and Honda have just named the new joint brand they intend to sell cars from 2025: it will be Afeela.
The brand new also takes the opportunity to reveal a more advanced prototype of the 2020 Vision S. The machine doesn’t have a name yet but takes the form of a large sedan measuring 4.89m long, 1.9m wide and 1.46m high. The profile is somewhat reminiscent of the Lucid Air’s appearance and its somewhat classic proportions are matched by a very refined style.
As for the interior, it displays a clearly broken dashboard with digital displays with two small screens linked to the camera mirrors on the sides, somewhat reminiscent of those in the Honda. Also note the steering wheel, which is very reminiscent of the famous “yoke” of the new Tesla Model S and X models.
There are no technical details
Afeela doesn’t reveal anything about the technical sheet for its prototype, but we do know that it has all-wheel drive and possibly two engines. Sony and Honda also state that the car will feature Level 3 self-driving technology, allowing you to let go of the wheel in certain specified circumstances. If everything goes as planned, pre-orders will open at the beginning of 2025 and it will be possible to purchase them from the end of that year. It is clear that the car is intended for sale in Europe.
